While passenger vans don't make much of an effort to be real head-turners, the Transit is actually quite stylish. The front fascia hosts a large honeycomb grille, surrounded in black or chrome depending on trim, and big blocky headlights. These are halogen-based on the XL, while the XLT gets high-intensity discharge headlights. Both ride on the same 16-inch heavy-duty steel wheels - with black center caps on the XL and full plastic covers on the XLT - though alloy variants are available. The models with dual rear wheels have steel wheels. The front and rear bumpers are both hard plastic - black on the XL and color-coded on the XLT - and the side doors can be replaced with power-operated sliding doors if you so desire.
